The best holidays ever

Araucaria's home.

To be honest, I can't remember a special holiday, I used to go on vacations really often when I was younger (specially the north of Chile) but nowadays I don't. But if a have to choose somewhere I would definitely opt my summer camp in 2018. Even if it wasn't a family  trip it  was really special to me.  I was in an art workshop during that year with 2  of my best friends. At the end of the programme they used to begin a summer camp, where my friends and I really wanted to be part of. That year the trip was to Nahuelbuta National Park. It was like 6 intense days but funny and educative.

There was around 30 students from different schools and workshops, and 5 experts in specific areas (Literature, mountaineering, fauna,  botany and psychology). We also had a logbook about it.

The first day was for presentations and activities, then we made groups to go on with a teacher. In my case, I was with the mountaineering teacher, we passed across hard places and a lot of us ended up really dirty because of the mud. When we reach to the tallest point, we stopped to rest and learn more things.

The second day my group went trekking again, first with fauna's teacher, with him we observed different native species and recorded them on out logbooks, there were a lot of birds (I'm afraid of them, by the way) reptiles, insects, etc. We also saw bats in the night, it was beautiful and I remember seeing like 3 big spiders on our way. Later (before the bats) was the psychologist's turn, it was a conscious activity were we went on trekking while we were picking up trash, we also have to register it and learn who long it would take to disappear from Earth.

The third day arrived and it was botany's turn, like the other, we went on trekking  (there were so many ways) while studying different kind of plants and nature, that day we learned that when we collected part of vegetation we have to say "Chaltumay" which means thanks in Mapudungun. The second part of the day we went to our literature teacher, I remember us on big rocks where we read some poems and then stayed there to meditate.

The next days (I don't remember which ones specific) we played some games and  compete. Then, for the ending of the trip we climbed "La piedra del águila", it was a looooooooooong way to the top (Like 3 hours) and my legs hurt a lot but it worth it. We were literally in the clouds, it was so cold and beautiful, I wanted to be there forever. But the way back wasn't so exciting because I was 3 hours holding on to pee because the bathrooms there were really disgusting, it was a torture. By the way, bathrooms in our camp were full of spiders, but I could stand it.

I also spent a lot of time with my friends, I really miss all of that, even woke up with insects on our tent. I hope to someday return there or visit somewhere similar.
